About this tool
Pair Generator takes one list and turns it into a complete round of partners. Add classmates, friends, players, workshop participants, or any set of items that should be matched two at a time.
If the list has an odd number of entries, choose whether one person sits out for that round or one group becomes a trio. When you make another round, Pikyo tries to avoid repeating the pairs from the previous round when the group size allows it.
Tool data stays in your browser. Names, items, pairings, and recent rounds stay in your browser and are not sent to Technway.

How Pikyo picks the result
Pikyo securely shuffles a copy of the list in your browser, then groups neighboring entries into pairs. Each entry is used once unless your odd-list setting leaves one person unpaired.
For another round, Pikyo tries several secure shuffles and prefers one that avoids the pairs from the previous round. If the group is too small to avoid every repeat, it keeps the result random rather than forcing an artificial pairing.
Before you use the result
Random pairing works well for games, classrooms, workshops, and casual activities. It does not know about skill, accessibility, safety, or interpersonal constraints that may require deliberate grouping.
Quick questions
What happens with an odd number of people?
Choose either one unpaired person or one trio. A new round randomizes who receives that outcome.
Can Pikyo avoid the same partners twice?
It tries to avoid pairs from the immediately previous round when the group size makes another pairing possible.
Can I change only one pair?
Yes. Remix pair swaps members with another group while keeping everyone in the round.
Are the names uploaded?
No. Names, pairings, saved lists, and recent rounds are handled locally in your browser.
How is this different from Team Generator?
Pair Generator creates groups of two, with an optional trio for odd counts. Team Generator divides everyone into larger teams.
